A routine activity in which Pet Sitting Malta actively engages in, is the service of Dog Walking. Unfortunately nowadays life can be very hectic. Sometimes one cannot give the proper exercise to his or her dog due to other commitments such as long working hours. This is indeed heart wrenching. This is where we step in to solve your problem. At Pet Sitting Malta we offer Dog Walking service. As with all our services we take a holistic approach and our Dog Walking service is no difference.
A key ingredient in every Dog Walking session is adequate exercise. By adequate exercise we mean exercise that is suitable for the dog or dogs on the current walk. Different dog breeds and dog ages require different exercise regimes. In view of this we always try to match dogs of the same energy level for a particular walk and tailor the walk appropriately. In the case of highly energetic dogs for which a simple walk is not enough to drain their energy, we usually recommend our dog day care service. The day care service allows us to spend more time with such dogs and cater better for such highly energetic needs.
Dogs need to be out in the open and sniff around in order to satisfy their instinct and achieve a balanced mental state. As Cesar Millan says, the purpose of walking a dog is not merely to allow the dog to relieve itself but it is a time where one satisfies the instinctual needs of the dog. Such instinctual needs involve proper mental stimulation by smells and activities as well as the leadership that the walker establishes on the walk itself. In order to fulfil these instinctual dog needs we put extra effort and take the dogs to open spaces as opposed to crowded street walking environments.
In order to offer the safest environment possible, we always conduct a preliminary meeting with prospective dogs for walking. A preliminary meeting is essential to:
- Asses the sociability of the dog
- Allow the owner to get to know us
- Give time to the dog to get comfortable around us
We only engage in walking dogs that are social and do not pose any hazard to other dogs on the walk. We do not offer dog walking for these breeds. It is imperative that dogs are fully vaccinated and with up to date records. We take this approach to put your mind at rest that we provide your dog with the safest dog walking experience. A standard concept throughout all our activities is that of providing the best individual care and therefore the number of dogs on any walk is kept low.
We do understand the importance of feedback. Therefore as part of our Dog Walking service, we take pictures and videos throughout the walk and upload them to a secure location on our server. Dog owners are given access to this location via a secure link and can see what their dog was up to during the walk. In this way we reassure the owner that the dog is enjoying the Dog Walking experience that we provide.
We would be delighted to explain in more detail our Dog Walking concept. We invite you to drop us a message with any queries you may have through our contact portal. We would be more than happy to organise a meeting, explain in more depth the idea behind our services and discuss how we could assist.
